Couch Leg Extension

COUCH LEG EXTENSION

The couch leg extension exercise is used to strengthen the quadriceps muscles in a lengthen position. Start by going into a COUCH STRETCH position. You may use a stability ball or Swiss Ball, exercise bench, or a couch to raise the foot. From the couch stretch position, press your foot into the ball in an attempt to extend the knee. Depending on your goals, hold this contraction for 2 minutes at 20-65% max strength, for 30 seconds at 65-80% max strength, or for 4-8 seconds at max strength.
